Carefield Living's Lightfinder™ Memory Care program was designed in collaboration with leading experts in cognitive impairment and memory loss as a personal and holistic approach to combating the effects of Alzheimer's and other dementias. The Lightfinder™ program utilizes evidence-based techniques to stimulate the mind while addressing other complicating factors through comprehensive nutritional and physical fitness plans.
According to the 2018 Facts and Figures report from the Alzheimer's Association, one in ten people aged 65 and older has Alzheimer's dementia. Another person in the United States develops Alzheimer's disease once every 65 seconds, and these numbers are predicted to grow as the baby boom generationn continues to age.
Carefield developed its Lightfinder™ memory care program with input from leading experts on memory loss and cognitive impairment to help those suffering from Alzheimer's and other dementias combat the effects of these degenerative conditions through evidence-based activities and techniques.
Keeping the mind engaged with a variety of stimulating activities lies at the heart of the Lightfinder™ program. Music, art, games, sensory experiences and other interactive elements are all incorporated into this comprehensive program.
Preserving quality of life is an important part of Lightfinder. We get to know the interests, passions, hobbies and history of our residents then tailor our program activities and content to connect with them.
