Our Very Own Shangri-La
The community of Ojai has long been known as a haven for artists, musicians, and health enthusiasts. A city that feels like a village, Ojai is a vibrant place of nearly 8,000 people. Its natural beauty is so captivating, the city was immortalized in film, representing Shangri-La in Frank Capra’s 1939 movie, Lost Horizon. Filled with delightful shops, art galleries, and a host of places to retreat from the fast-paced hustle, Ojai invites you to walk its oak-shaded paths and drink in its natural serenity. In the evening, Ojai enjoys what is known as the pink moment, when the surrounding peaks of the Topatopa Mountains glow with glorious shades of rose.

The Artesian of Ojai is a community of five buildings in the Spanish Colonial Revival style. Each apartment faces outward toward the lush beauty of Ojai or inward toward the center of our beloved community. Our newly renovated central patio is particularly spacious, providing a beautiful communal space we are blessed to enjoy year round.
Culinary Excellence
Meals at The Artesian of Ojai are special. In attunement with the Ojai way of life, we champion organic and locally grown ingredients. Our menu combines chef-driven daily selections with our signature a la carte menu. Our team understands that dining service and meal presentation play a large part in the joy of eating. Our chefs craft meals to be as beautiful as they are delicious.

Residential Living in Community
The Artesian is not like other Senior Living communities, often large and institutional. When arriving at our community, you’ll enter the main lobby, then proceed to four free-standing buildings. We have two Assisted Living buildings and two Memory Care buildings. Each one-story building has 16 individual apartments, as well as its own living room, dining room, and kitchen. This is a revolutionary approach to Senior Living known as the small house or household model, a model that makes the switch from home to supported living much more seamless.

Pet Friendly
Four-legged companions are welcome at The Artesian of Ojai! We understand how important it is for residents to continue residing with a beloved pet. Though this policy only applies to our Assisted Living residents, families are encouraged to bring pets along when visiting a loved one in Memory Care.

At the Artesian of Ojai, we offer Studio, One-Bedroom, or Deluxe Suite Apartments.
Our Studios are perfect for seniors who want to maintain their independence while downsizing from a larger home. These cozy units offer ample space for a bed, seating, dining area, and a spacious bathroom, along with plenty of closet space.
For those who prefer a bit more space, our One-Bedroom apartments provide a comfortable living area with a bright bedroom, spacious living room, kitchenette, and a large bathroom.
A few of our studio units share an adjoining door, allowing for two full Studios to be enjoyed by an individual or couple. We call these our Deluxe Suites.
All units have a private bathroom. All units have a private patio, offering a peaceful space to enjoy the serene surroundings of Ojai. Our Deluxe Suites have two of each!

Yes—well-behaved pets are welcome in our Assisted Living community. For safety reasons, in our Memory Care community, we cannot allow pets to reside here.
